Rock It Science is bringing back the live stage show to clubs in and around the Twin Cities with loads of sights and sounds to treat both the ears and the eyes.
At first glance, one may be inclined to think, "here is another gimmick, all fluff and no substance", but don't let the wigs and makeup fool you. Stay for a couple songs and you'll hear some of the best musicians in the Twin Cities area proving you don't have to wear tattered jeans and black concert T shirts to be "true to your art".
There are a lot of bands out there covering 80's music, but this band goes the extra mile, involving the crowd in the party every step of the way. With 5 of the 6 members wireless, they spend a lot of time playing in and with the crowd. Visiting tables and singing with the dancers. The group takes photos at every gig and maintains a large photo site on the web where fans can see themselves "jamming air guitar" with the band. Zebra spandex, mullet wigs, feather boas, smoke, bubbles, cheesy choreagraphy and random goofiness are all a big part of the RIS show.
With 2 strong lead female vocalists, you can expect to hear the traditional mainstays, Benetar, Joan Jett, Madonna, etc., but they also pull out a lot of songs other bands can't touch. Heart, Journey, Styx, ABBA, Squire, Wham, Cars, the list goes on and on.
So dig out your giant hair bows CFM pumps and animal print jeans, run a comb through your mullet, and stop out to a Rock It Science show to relive the 80's experience. Oh, and don't forget the spandex, lots and lots of spandex. I guarantee you'll leave a Rock It Science show with a smile on your face. They're like, totally awesome, Dude!
