- Musical Background: I grew up in a musical family, started playing piano at age 5. Though I always loved to sing, I took the instrumental route early on and played alto sax, string bass, bassoon and clarinet through school (I know, total band geek). I was "discovered" at a high school talent show singing a duet with a friend by the local rock band (there was only one in my small hometown). I studied vocal performance at UW Madison for a couple years but the call of the road was strong. I joined a a road band and spent several years traveling throughout the US and Far East. I got to see the world, meet tons of incredible people and eventually landed in Minneapolis where I've had the great fortune to work with some of the best musicians in the business from an early age. I truly thank each and every one of them for showing me the ropes!
